Worms Around Town: Spring Events

The Full Worm Moon

Don’t believe the groundhog – the worms are the real sign of Spring!

Native Americans have long recognized March’s full moon as the Worm Moon. As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworms make their way to higher ground, their castings appear, and we herald the return of the robins.

With Chicago temperatures topping 70 degrees this week, we think the worms are right on time!

To learn more about the monthly full moons, check out the Farmers’ Almanac.
