Great news! We got help to clean our Community Gardens.

Hi Everyone who was “thinking about” volunteering…

Yesterday the director of Green Corps Chicago, the organization who helped install the original two gardens, called me and told me that we have 2 days of workers still coming  to us.  Since we are not planning on installing any more gardens (I’m just too busy to organize it) we can use the workers any way we choose.  Well I chose to have them clean up the Community Gardens!  They will pull weeds and spread mulch at the four corners at Tripp and Byron, the three gardens on the YMCA parkway and the park bench rose garden on Irving and Tripp.  Can’t beat that.  They are coming tomorrow around 9:30.

So thanks to everyone who was “thinking about” volunteering.  Special thanks go to Laura Hastings and Trudy Moore who came out and weeded.  Also thanks to Pam Rock and to Susan Carter who volunteered to help.  You guys are the best!

Maureen
